Starting early
It never hurts to start early. If you plan to apply for this year’s residency match, you should begin drafting a personal statement now. It can be daunting at first if you have never done any writing. A good tip would be listing bullet points under the following headings: 1) what made you choose medicine as a career, 2) what do you like about your chosen specialty, 3) a patient encounter that you remember vividly and offered you learning points/inspired you, and 4) where do you see yourself in ten years. After you list bullet points under these headings, putting the statement together becomes more manageable.
We offer personal statement editing services in three tiers. The basic service tier will polish your personal statement, correct grammar errors, and tighten sentences. The other two levels cost more. The higher tier costs $400 and offers an overhaul of your statement. A good personal statement distinguishes between getting an interview and not.
